DAY ONE

- Journey across the vast Canterbury Plains
- Climb to 903 metres
- Turn into the mountains and cross through a National Park
- Morning tea at a lakeside
- Travel across the downs to the gorge

- Travel upstream before arriving for the night at a stunning location of either a beautifully appointed homestay or a genuine working high country station of 250,000 acres running 400 cattle and 7000 sheep
- Quality accommodation with all modern conveniences and stunning views
- Before your evening meal relax and take in the view in the outdoor spa pool (Jacuzzi) or enjoy a game of NZ Golf Cross (depending on which accommodation) and watch the sun set over the mountains
- On clear nights see the most stars you have ever seen
DAY TWO
- Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with a wonderful view before setting off across private land.

- Travel off road through private tracks across the tussock clad mountains following the river and view the glaciers that feed it.
- Negotiate a narrow track and steep slope and follow a stream (with or without water) to its source

- Travel through the mountains crossing a watershed into another valley
- Morning tea at the side of a lake
- Take a stroll at the lake side, or on still days spot fish or photograph the stunning reflections

- Cross a vast inter-montane basin carved out by glaciers
- Enjoy the magnificent views up another spectacular river valley with snow capped mountains soaring to 9,000 feet, stunning in both summer and winter before arriving in Lord of the Rings “Middle Earth” landscapes.

- Optional climb to the top of “Edoras” ( reasonable fitness required- time and weather permitting)
- Weather permitting view the glaciers of The Garden of Eden and the strange shapes of the equally strangely named “Jumped Up Downs”
- Leave the mountains through another gorge
- Visit an old thatched Pioneer’s Cottage for afternoon tea
- View a quaint old village shop/museum
- Meet the extinct Moa Bird!
Departs Christchurch and includes pick up/return (Approx 9am - 5.30pm)
Prices:
Two Days: $1355 (including GST) per person (12 years and under half price) (Based on a minimum fare of 2 adults)
